J’Star finishes strong to claim 3rd

Well that was one that got away today with J’Star, little slow out rushed to take her spot 5th then had to ease severely and threw her head about and quickly lost her spot, 2 nd last at the turn and really motored home last 200m. No doubt she should have won clearly.
That’s racing they say…

Triple Gold runs 2nd at Sundown Hillside

Another honest performance from Triple Gold today running 2nd over 1800m on a heavy track. Dwayne Dunn told us of his intentions and carried them out to the letter.
The horse gave the winner 2 kg on very testing ground, although beaten comfortably he tried very hard and held 2nd solidly to the line. Considering he was on a 10 day back up the run was full of merit.

I spoke with Dwayne after the race as well as Andrew Noblet who is doing a great job with the horse.

Great to see many members today and seeing our horses running so well.

Triple Gold Wins at Sale!

Hello from London where we have just completed our Royal Ascot Racing Tour for 2016.
It is a must to do, best racing carnival in the world.
I have advised the Jockey Club I will be back with shires to win here next year, sent them into a “Spin”!!
Congratulations to you with the win of Triple Gold at Sale, I was up early in London and could not see it live but within an hour of the race, solid win, spoke with Andrew Noblet after the race and he was delighted, said the horse only had a little puff after and is wry clean winded, handled the soft ground and powered away.
We will have some fun with him! Love a stayer and you never know where he may take us,
Call Fay if you want a DVD, replay is attached,
Well done again, 6 winners since Dec 15 for us so far!

J’Star Wins at Geelong!

Well Congratulations and it’s so good to get 2 wins in a row it now make’s her record look ok with her 6 start for 2 wins. She I definitely getting more tractable with extra racing and I do think Dan Moor is a real plus as she is a difficult filly to ride/handle, but Dan seems to really gel with her.

Dan said from the gate he wanted to be positive and she jumped much better so I just let her roll, she was pressured but to her credit when I asked her to sprint she found 2 lengths when it mattered.

Leon was chuffed as training her has its challenges ,but to get wins at her last 2 starts give us good satisfaction that we are on the right path. As long as she pulls up well we may look at a metro run next, but will look at all options and let you know ASAP

Well done team and go J’star…

Golden Spin Wins Maiden at Bendigo

Well a maiden win by Golden Spin showed us what he’s made of at Bendigo, with a great ride by Ben Melham, who took him to the front and lead most of the way, fending off a late challenge to win in a photo finish.

Word this morning is that he has come up a bit shin-sore, and trainer Lee Freedman is going to put him out for 4-6 weeks to mature ready for the Summer/Autumn races.

Here’s what Lee had to say about the win:

Congratulations to all our owners!

Litosa Joy Post-Race Audio Report

Here is the voice report from Cindy Alderson regarding Litosa Joy from last Friday at Moe.

Litosa Joy Race Replay / Report

Delighted with the run of Litosa Joy at Mornington yesterday. She saddled up extremely well and handled the first day at the races with no problems. We were happy from the inside gate to let her find her feet early, she was a touch slow off the inside gate and may have been back 2 to 3 lenghs further than planned, it was important not to rush her early.

Most of the race she wanted to be on one rein and laid out especially coming to the turn where she was at near right angles, I was very concerned as was our trainer but once she straightened for home giving the leading horses a huge start she flattened out and really reached in to the bridle. On the line Litosa Joy got beaten 1.75L sht hd and a nose, so inside 2lengths, considering what had unfolded in the run it was exceptional. The winner had been city placed last prep and the first 3 home were all trained at Mornington. It is a tricky course with plenty of turns.

Jockey Brian Higgins was very pleased with the run and said different bigger track and little further would suit. Very important to note the time was .7 quicker than the benchmark 64 race later in the day.
