Artie Schiller Stable Visit Video

Nice to see a fair roll up of our members at the Malua stable this morning to meet the Artie Schiller filly, grateful to Troy and staff including new recruit Liam Readon, handler of the filly and the new apprentice to the stable. Impressive young man who is starting out in racing.

We have recorded the stable visit from this morning for your enjoyment.

As you will hear on the interview with Troy he is absolutely wrapped in this filly.

The stable have asked for our input in naming the filly:
Her sire is Artie Schiller and her mum is Dominita, her complete pedigree is on our website under the Artie Schiller filly.
Please send your suggested names over to Troy direct: troy@maluaracing.com.au

Litosa Joy Race Replay / Report

Delighted with the run of Litosa Joy at Mornington yesterday. She saddled up extremely well and handled the first day at the races with no problems. We were happy from the inside gate to let her find her feet early, she was a touch slow off the inside gate and may have been back 2 to 3 lenghs further than planned, it was important not to rush her early.

Most of the race she wanted to be on one rein and laid out especially coming to the turn where she was at near right angles, I was very concerned as was our trainer but once she straightened for home giving the leading horses a huge start she flattened out and really reached in to the bridle. On the line Litosa Joy got beaten 1.75L sht hd and a nose, so inside 2lengths, considering what had unfolded in the run it was exceptional. The winner had been city placed last prep and the first 3 home were all trained at Mornington. It is a tricky course with plenty of turns.

Jockey Brian Higgins was very pleased with the run and said different bigger track and little further would suit. Very important to note the time was .7 quicker than the benchmark 64 race later in the day.
