Roxy Wins at Bendigo!

Congratulations to all following Roxanne of Sydney‘s win at Bendigo yesterday, lovely mare who continues to improve with experience, big open stretches suited her yesterday and she was dominant over the last 200m. She is racing very well and getting stronger and each run is a great learning curve for her, the field was quite strong for maiden class and she put them away very quickly late in the race. We will let her get over the run and see what Cindy has to report and where her next essay will be.

Must say very satisfying for all to have 2 winners in 2 days with only 4 horse currently in the club. It is a game where you seem to wait your turn and we have had ours this week, may it continue.

Of course Slickpix are the people for the photo on the wall for Werribee Tuesday and Bendigo. Great thing was both wins this week were just so strong and by good margins.

As you read this I am in the air flying to Johannesburg in South Africa for a racing tour we are heading, who knows what is going to happen over here soon with Mr Mandella’s poor health.
Hope more winners come our way, make sure you get involved with our next 2 horses, we have fun days ahead!

Human League Wins at Werribee!

Hope you enjoyed the win of Human League yesterday, great example of patience and letting the horse grow into his own, the Dubawi breed are at their best at 4 and 5 so his future will be interesting.

Spoke with Troy Corstens after the win and he was very happy as was John Sadler who is on leave but sent a lovely text and wanted to be remembered to all our members.

We were possibly going to the paddock after yesterday but it will depend on how HL pulls up from his run and how he does in the next few days, he normally has light duties and is led off the pony back at Ballarat.

Troy mentioned that there is a nice race at Caulfield next Wednesday over 1400m 0-68 for 3YO. HL has a rating of 61 now. We will wait and see what the next few days brings.

Roxanne of Sydney Update

Good Afternoon,

Roxanne of Sydney had an extensive workout on the treadmill on Saturday and I am pleased to say that her lactates are quite respectable and I feel that she is going to be getting close to her peak fitness shortly. She will have a strong workout towards the end of this week on the training track and we will then look at probably racing her in around two weeks time.

Horse Updates 18 June

Prussia With Love: Not the desired outcome from a trial yesterday at Geelong. Brad Spicer has the report to follow, not financially viable for us to continue, the horses have to indicate that they can graduate hopefully to mid week city class to be viable with costs involved. Human League is not that way yet but he is having a real go so he stays with us.

Hi Guys ,

Well we had a good crack with Prussia With Love today ,Michael Rodd on ,Blinkers on and directed Michael to give her a good test out where she finished a creditable 4th beaten around 6 lengths .

Michael said she travelled super for around 750 meters of her 1000 meter trial but when I asked her to let go she just lacked the zip to go with the a couple in front of her .
I asked him post-trial if she had any future for a city class horse and he said no she definitely wouldn’t be up to that grade ,but if we persisted she may win a maiden somewhere right up deep in the bush . The problem with that is could take another 2 -3 months of trying with training fee’s and the like ,when we know she doesn’t handle wet tracks . We could probably get around 4-5 k for her as a maiden horse up in Northern Queensland or Darwin where she is better placed to win races .

Could everyone let me know if you would like option 1 of moving her on up North or option 2 of seeing if we can win a maiden . from the guys I have spoken to thus far it’s been unanimous to move her on ,but we still need to go through the proper channels .

Cheers,

Brad Spicer

Prussia & Roxy Update

Roxanne of Sydney:

Roxanne of Sydney had a bit of a blow after she pulled up at Cranbourne last Sunday. I had the vet go over her and she appears to be fine in her action and her blood test is good so it should be onwards and upwards from here. You may notice that she is entered in a couple of mile races and ultimately I think that is her distance range but I am not sure that she is ready to take that step yet. They just seem to be at the right tracks and of the right distance range for her but I will keep looking and there may be something else that pops up that suits her better. She has been eating quite well and whilst she is a little bit excitable when she goes to the track, the rest of the time she is quite good to handle and does quite a lot of her work on the treadmill which appears to suit her.

Cindy Alderson

Prussia With Love:

Hi Guys ,

Please find a list below of our horse’s down to have a jump out/trial at Cranbourne Synthetic track on Monday June 17th . It’s not our preferred option but at this time of the year we have to look at the synthetic tracks due to all the rain .I will send out post trial reports on Monday afternoon with video’s to follow . The trials start at 8 am with no particular order as Cranbourne will organize that all on the morning . Good luck to all ,cheers Brad

Worth noting both Human League and Roxy are entered for the same maiden over 1600m on Wednesday at Sandown.

Human League Post-Race Report

Getting closer with our team, both Human League & Roxy ran well, excuses for Human League with the tightening at the top of the straight which would break his momentum then he tried very hard but was grabbed late in the race, never thought that straight was as long as that at Swan Hill. A win is close, 3 seconds on the board.

Stewards:
Near the 300m Human League had to be steadied when tightened for room by Frumboli which shifted in before being straightened by its rider. After passing the 200m Human League shifted out and slightly hampered Frumboli. Near the 100m Human League continued to lay out and again slightly hampered Frumboli.

Clock ticking for Prussia With Love

Latest for Prussia With Love is below, the clock is ticking!

Hi Guys ,

We have Prussia with love down to trial at Geelong on the 19th of June at Geelong with the view of getting her away from the wet tracks and blinkers on .

This trial will give us a great insight into her as a future racehorse prospect ,if she disappoints us again ,then some major questions will be asked about her .

I will send out more info next Monday when the fields are out .
