Great Member Turn Out At Malua Racing

Sunday Morning 20th May

Around 50 of our members made their way to Flemington Race Course this morning to the stables of Malua Racing, where Troy Corstens introduced the members to two of the horses in our club, the Dubawi/Love From Above Colt, and the King Of Prussia / De Baroness Filly.

Members got to see the horses up close and personal, with some getting more personal that others!

Troy and David gave us updates on where they are at, and it was a great opportunity for members to gather and get to know each other.

Shock Value runs 3rd at Caulfield

Shock Value:

Very happy with his run yesterday, race panned out like we thought where he got a very good run 3rd back on the rail, the leader Fab Fervola took time to roll off and the horse on the outside the winner Stratcombe stayed close so there was no room to come out and we had to wait for the run on the rail, he got out in plenty of time and pinged well with his run ending 50 m out he stayed on for 3rd and it was full of merit. Jockey rode him well and the jock gave us a positive report. David Hayes reports this morning the horse has pulled up well. The owner and breeder Rob Gray came over from WA to watch the race and made the comment the horse has never looked better.
We will keep Shock Value going while he is in good form, as the tracks soften up he will be heading to the paddock, yesterday was a heat of the winter sprint championship and in running 3rd he gets 7 points for a final on the 9th of July at Flemington over 1200m of 150K. We are aiming at the Golden Topaz at Swan Hill 1200m of 100K Friday 8th June again a heat of the sprint series so if he could win or place he could gain valuable points.
Great to meet many of our new members yesterday.

King Of Prussia Filly Update

Here is the latest stable update from Leon Corstens via Brad Spicer on the King Of Prussia Filly:

I am pleased to report that the King of Prussia / De Baroness filly has started work once again and settled back into stable life beautifully .

She has grown into such a lovely filly and all going well this time around we can expect a full racing prep from her which i am sure everyone is looking forward to .

Leon has asked we get her named ASAP so i am asking for any name nominations to be sent through and once i have a good enough list to send out we can all have a vote to give our girl an identity !!

** See Competitions Page for your chance to name this Filly –
